Awards Overview

Blue B - Earned by students who have a 3.8+ GPA for 6 quarters.  A second Blue B can be earned by students who have a 3.8+ GPA for 11 quarters.  Students must apply on the BHS Website (CERTIFICATE and BLUE B PIN)

White B - Earned by students who demonstrate service for the school in multiple ways.  The form explains what expectations are set and students can mix and match to earn their points. (CERTIFICATE and WHITE B PIN)

Academic Letter - Earned by students within each department.  The department sets the specific requirements.  Each form will show those requirements. (CERTIFICATE)

Presidential Award for Educational Excellence - This is earned by having a cumulative 3.5+ GPA and scoring an ACT score of 25+.  This does not need to be applied for and is only open to seniors. (CERTIFICATE and PRESIDENTIAL PIN)

Gold B - First place in region competitions.  Teachers will submit this list, but students can follow up if they believe this was earned. (CERTIFICATE and GOLD B PIN)

Anchor B - First place in state competitions.  Teachers will submit this list, but students can follow up if they believe this was earned.  This is also awarded for other special accomplishments. (CERTIFICATE and ANCHOR B PIN)

Laker Award - This is an award given when a teacher wants to award a student for something special. (CERTIFICATE)

Athletic Letters - The athletic director usually prints these awards and usually they are given out at a team banquet.
