ACCESS Program for Women in Science and Mathematics – University of Utah

Grade: 12

Deadline: 03-01-23

Too many young women believe that only men can have a successful career in the sciences, or worry that studying science at a major research university would be “too hard” for them. ACCESS exists to dispel those myths, and to provide female students an introduction to science at the U, a strong foundation in research, and a supportive network of classmates with whom they can collaborate (and commiserate!) through their years at the U. This scholarship award is a monetary award and first year experience valued at over $5,000.

The ACCESS program’s seven-week summer science course is designed to introduce students to university-level study in science and mathematics. Then, during the freshman year, each student is placed in a university research lab in the field of her choice.  Students can apply online on the College of Science web page at: ACCESS . Any questions please contact Lisa Batchelder in the College of Science Dean’s Office at (801) 587-8978 or email at: This email address is being protected from spambots.
