Last Friday, KUTV visited Bonneville High to showcase the Laker food pantry. With high needs in the neighborhood, plus an ongoing government shutdown, the food pantry is a priority to keep stocked given that it is constantly utilized.
"Because of what's going on in our communities right now, we expect an increase in November and December," Assistant Principal Cari Fredrickson said. She added, "If you’re not being fed, if you’re not able to shower, if you’re not able to have clean clothes, it’s really hard to concentrate in school.”

Dear Weber School District Families,
We understand that the recent government shutdown may be creating challenges for many in our community. Please know that your child will continue to receive lunch at school every day, regardless of your family’s current situation.
In addition, our district food pantries are available to support any family in need. You are welcome to visit any of our pantry locations to access food and other essential items. Any Weber School District family may access any of our food pantries regardless of where their child attends school. Additionally, we encourage you to reach out to your school administration or school counselor for additional support.
If you are a military connected family who has been impacted by the shutdown, please reach out to our Weber School District’s Military Support Team. They will be able to help families secure additional resources.
